7 Reasons Why Our Prayer Hardly Answered

Prayers are like weapons, and a weapon is only as good as the person who is using it; it is not merely the matter of how sharp it is. If the weapon is perfect and free of faults, and the arm of the person using it is strong, and there is nothing stopping him, then he can lay waste the enemy. But if any of these three features is lacking, then the effect will be lacking accordingly.

From this it will be clear that there is an etiquette and rulings which must be fulfilled, in prayer and in the person making the prayer. There are also things that may prevent the prayer reaching Allah or being answered these things must be removed from the person making the du'a and from the prayer. When all of these conditions are fulfilled, then the prayer may be answered. Below are some reasons why your prayers are not been answered:

1: Doubting Allah’s Response: When we make Dua’, we should put our trust in Allah and be sure of Allah’s response. Never think of the bad deeds we have committed, because Allah is the Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.

2: Repentance and turning back to Allah: Sin is one of the main reasons why du'as are not answered, so the person who is making du'a should hasten to repent and seek forgiveness before he makes du'a.

3:Dua must be devoid of sin: The supplication must not contain any sin and transgression. If the supplication is sinful, then it will not be accepted by Allah, even if the father supplicates against his own children, or the mother supplicates against her own children. Allah does not accept supplications that transgress against others.

4: Showing Impatience:A person should supplicate to Allah whilst being certain of a response, not just making an attempt to see if it works. Some people supplicate to try it out, to see if it will be accepted or not. This type of supplication is not accepted. Call upon Allah whilst you are certain that He, the Most High, will respond to you. And if you supplicate to Allah whilst you are doubtful, Allah will not accept such a supplication.

5: You Aren’t Doing Your Part: This might be the most obvious problem. You want Allah to give you this and give you that, but you aren’t giving Him anything in return.

-You’re not praying regularly.

-You’re not fasting during Ramadan.

-You’re not paying your Zakah (obligatory charity).

6: You remember Allah Almighty in times of hardships but fail to remember Him at times of Happiness. Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “Whoever would be pleased to have Allah respond to him during hardship and disaster should make much Dua in times of ease.” (Tirmidhi)

7: Been in a hurry while making Dua: We should always take our time in making supplication. By rushing in while making dua we might be missing expressing gratitude for what we already have. Remember to send gratitude to Allah Almighty, praising Him and let send Salat (Durood) on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and then make invocation.
