Are These Service Chiefs Still Qualify To Piloting The Security Situation In This Country

We have many Uniform Service Chiefs in Nigeria but the Army,Navy and Airforce are the ones that have their head as Chief of Staff while Paramilitary have their's as Inspector General or Controller General, for all their heads or highest Rank Officer.

Alot of People are saying that the Service Chiefs need to be retired.

In this Article we are going to see their Date of Birth, Age and the year they enrolled in the Military and Paramilitary respectively.

Remember the normal Service Year is 35 years but Once your age is up to 60 years, you will be retired even if you have not served upto 35 years.

So now let's go through this Service Chiefs in Nigeria and check if some of them need to be retired or not.

1. General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin is the Current Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff. He was appointed to the position on July 13, 2015 by Presidential Mohammed Buhari.

General Olonisakin is a member of 25 Regular Combatant Course of 1981.

He was born on 2 December 1961 in Ekiti State, Nigeria.

General Olonisakin hails from Ekiti State, had his Elementary and Secondary Education in Zaria.

He enrolled at the Nigerian Military School, Zaria in 1973 and later joined the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of the 25th Regular Combatant Course. He was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army Signals Corps in 1981. General Olonisakin holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.

Prior to his appointment as Chief of Defence Staff, General Olonisakin was Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army and Commander Nigerian Army Corps of signals. Olonisakin was Promoted to General in August 2015 by President Mohammed Buhari upon his Confirmation as Chief of Defence Staff.

2.Tukur Yusuf Buratai is a Nigerian Army Lieutenant General and Current Chief of Army Staff of Nigeria, a position he was Appointment by President Mohammed Buhari in July 2015. He was Commissioned in 1983 and has had multiple Command, Administrative, and instructional appointments.

Buratai was born in November 24th 1960.

General Buratai hails from Buratai town, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

 His father, Yusuf Buratai, was a non Commissioned Officer in the Royal West African Frontier Force and World War II Veteran who fought in Buma.

General Buratai had Primary Education at Buratai town and thereafter gained admission to Government Teachers College Portiskum, Yobe State, where he graduated with distinction.

In January 1981, Buratai attended the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna as a member of the 29 Regular Combatant Course (29 RC) where he was given the Prestigious appointment of Cadet Sergeant Major (CSM). On successful completion of his Officer Cadet Training, he was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 17 December 1983 into the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army.

Buratai has a degree in History from University of Maiduguri and a degree in philosophy from Bangladesh University of Professionals, Dhaka.

He is also a graduate of National Defence College,Mirpur Bangladesh.

3. Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ekwe Ibas is the current and 22nd Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of the Nigerian Navy. He was appointed to the position on July 13, 2015 by President Mohammed Buhari.

Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ekwe Ibas was born in Nko, Cross River State, South South Nigeria.He began his Primary Education at Nko Primary, School,Nko in 1966 and Completed at Big Qua Primary School, Calabar in 1971. He then proceeded to the Prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institute Calabar from 1972 to 1976, Between 1977 and 1979, he Attended the school of Basic Studies Ogoja before Proceeding to the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1979.

 He enlisted into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 26 Regular Course on 20 June 1979 and was Commissioned Sub-Lieutenant on 1 January 1983.

He is Alumnus of the National Defence College, Islamabad, Pakistan, having attended the National Defence Course from August 2005 to June 2006. In addition he holds a master's degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-Azam Universe in Islamabad, Pakistan.

4. Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar is the current Chief of Air Staff of the Nigerian Airforce (NAF). He was appointed to the position on July 13, 2015 by President Mohammed Buhari.

Sadique Abubakar was born on April 8, 1960 in Azare, Bauchi State. He had his Primary Education at St Paul's Primary School Bauchi from 1967 to 1973 and for his Secondary Education, he Attended Government Secondary School, Bauchi.

Abubakar joined the Nigerian Air Force as a member of a Cadet Military Training Course (CMTC) in November 1979.

Abubakar has a Diploma in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree (second class upper division) in Political Science. He also holds a Master's of Science Degree in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan. Abubakar has a commercial Pilot License (CPC) Helicopter with Instrument rating and has flown a total of 7 aircraft types.

5. Mohammed Abubakar Adamu is a Nigerian Police Officer who is currently the 20th Inspector General of Police of Nigeria.

He was appointed by President Muhammed Buhari in 15th January 2019, replacing Ibrahim Kpotun Idris (RTD) of Niger State.

Mohammed Abubakar Adamu was born on 17 September 1961 and enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force in 1986, after graduating from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Geography. He also holds a Master's degree in International Criminal Justice System from the University of Portsmouth, England.

After sometime, he joined the Nigerian Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1986, and trained at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos State where he worked as the Divisional Crime and Administration Officer at the Mgbidi Police Station in Mgbidi, Imo State.

He served at many levels such as Officer in charge of General Investigation at the NPF Zone 6 Headquarters in Calabar.

Adamu also has extensive International experience, he worked at Interpol's NCB in Lagos from 1989 to 1997. He was the first Nigerian to be Seconded to Interpol General Secretariat, Lyon in 1997 where he served as Specialized Officer in Economic and Financial Crime,Sub-diretorate from 1997 to 2002. He became the First back African to be appointed Assistant Director in charge of African Sub-diretorate from 2002 to 2005

When he returned to Nigeria,he appointed as Director in charge of Peacekeeping and Training at the Nigeria Police Headquarters, Abuja.

Between 2013 and 2015 he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police and Commissioner of Police in Enugu State Command.

6. Colonel Hameed Ibrahim Ali (RTD)

He is the current Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service.

A retired Military Officer, he previously served as a military Governor of Kaduna State from 1996 to 1998. After retirement, he became secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, a Political and Cultural Association of Leaders in Northern Nigeria.

He is a member of the All Progressive Congress and had Supported Muhammadu Buhari's Presidential bids in 3?2003,2007,2011,2015, and 2019.

Hameed Ibrahim Ali was born in 1955 and raised in Dass, Bauchi State.

Ali was Commissioned in 1977 after he received his training at the Nigerian Defence Academy in kaduna. He Attended Sam Houston State University from 1984 to 1988. And holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree in Criminology,and an Educational Certificate from the Academy.

In 1981, Ali was a general Staff Officer in the Military Police Headquarters.

In 1992, he was posted to the 1st Division in Kaduna, as General Staff Officer. Ali was the Commander of the Special Investigation Bureau in Apapa from 1994 to 1996. Ali served as the Military Administrator of Kaduna State from August 1996 to August 1998 during the Military Regime of General Sani Abacha. Ali was made Colonel (Training) TRADOC, in Minna before being retired.

7. Mohammed Babatunde is the Current Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service. Before His appointment by President Mohammed Buhari, he was the Deputy Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service.

Babatunde holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Islamic, he has Master's Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria.

Babatunde was born in Jigawa State, Nigeria in the year 1963.

He served as Assistant Comptroller General ACG Passport at the Immigration Headquarters. His appointment came after President Muhammadu Buhari sacked the former Immigration Boss, Martin Abeshi.

Babatunde has an award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR, in 2014. He is currently the Longest Serving Nigeria Immigration Service top Officer.

8. Mohammed Mustapha Abdallah is a Nigerian Professional Security Officer who currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency after he was appointed into the post by Muhammadu Buhari on January 11, 2016.

9. Ja'afaru Ahmed was born on the 21st of July 1959 at Bimin Kebbi State.

He had his Primary Education from 1965 to 1972 at Nassarawa Primary School,Bimin Kebbi. He proceeded to Government Secondary School Birmingham Kebbi State where he has his Secondary Education from 1972 to 1976. For his Tertiary Education, Alhaji Ja'afaru was admitted into the Prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied History.He graduated in 1984 bagging his BA (Hons) in History. He joined the Nigerian Prisons Service in November 1989 as a Superintendent of Prisons and Subsequently rose through the Ranks in this order . Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) in 1993, Assistant Comptroller of Prisons (ACP) in 1996, Deputy Comptroller of Prisons (DCP) in 1999, Comptroller of Prisons (CP) in 2003 and Assistant Comptroller General of Prisons in 2008.

10. Yusuf Magaji Bichi is the Director General of the State Security Service (DG SSS)

Bichi was born on 23 February 1959 in Hagagawa Qtrs of Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State. Bichi attended Kano State College of Advanced Studies 1975 to 1977 and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria 1977 to 1980 where he graduated with a Degree in Political Science. He Attended Strategic Training at the National Defence College, Abuja obtaining a Certificate with the authorization to use fellow War College (FWC).

Bichi began his career in the Security Division of the Cabinet Office in Kano State from 1981 to 1984, in 1984 he joined the defunct Nigerian Security organization (NSO) the Precursor of the present State Security Service,now renamed Department of State Service,where he rose to the Rank of Director. He serves as State Director of Security in Jigawa State from 1998 to 1999, Niger State from 2000 to 2003, Sokoto State from 2003 to 2005 and Abia State from 2005 to 2006.

Subsequently, he served as Director in the National Assembly Liaison in 2006, Directorate of Security Enforcement from 2007 to 2008, Directorate of Operations from 2008 to 2009, Directorate of Intelligence from 2009 to 2010, State Service Academy Lagos from 2010 to 2013, Directorate of Administration and Finance from 2015 to 2017.

He was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 14th September 2018 replacing Mattew Seiyefa

11. Liman Alhaji Ibrahim is the current Comptroller General of Fire Service of Nigeria, and was born to family of Alhaji Abdulrahman Ndabiba in Baro, Agaie Local Government Area Niger State. 

He Attended L.E.A Primary School Baro from 1967 to 1973 and also his high school in Baro, then proceed to Justice Fati Lami Abubakar College of Art and Legal Studies Minna, 1974 to 1979. He went for his Degree at Ahmed Bello University, Zaria. Then Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and gain his Master's degree of Public Administration in University of Calabar,2006, also the Bournemouth University and Royal Institutions of Public Administration (RIPA) United Kingdom Liman was Pioneer Cadet in Niger State, Fire Officer,and started his Career in Fire Service as a Station Officer in 1986. Fire,Crises and Disaster Management Courses.

He was appointed the Controller General of Fire Service of Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari, following the retirement of Joseph Anebi.
