APC GOVERNMENT IS PATHETIC. LIES UPON LIES.DECEPTION ALL OVER
As the price of basic needs started to increase in 2015, the president said he could feel our pain and pleaded that we should be patient and endure and that the future is bright. It's 2022, a year to his exit and the price of basic needs is still on the increase. Where was he feeling the pain from? London or Dubai? Where is the future? And for how long?

Sometimes thereafter, electricity generation increased from 2,000MW to 10,000MW. I remember some APC loyalists and Buharists celebrated it then. Now generation is back to 2,000MW. You don't celebrate what you are not sure of it's sustenance. In the office today, we had electricity for about 2.5 hours in the afternoon (11am to 1.30pm). At home, we had electricity for 2 hours this night (8pm to 10pm).

Electricity tariff was classified in Bands and based on the number of minimum hours of electricity you will be supplied. Now that my 20 hours per day electricity decreased to 2 hours per day, what happens to the tariff? Will we get compensation? Of course, we won't. We are expected to MILT.

Buhari started in 2015 with fuel scarcity, long queues and black markets. December 2015 was a nightmare. He kept increasing fuel pump prices to clear the queues. That was celebrated by APC loyalists and Buharists up till recently. The fuel scarcity, long queues, and the black markets are back in 2022, a year to his exit. Does he need to increase the pump price again? We may likely get that.

The price of cooking gas has doubled, without electricity and fuel and with the heat, we'll have to buy petrol from the black markets to power our generators.

ASUU is on strike over the same issues since 2015. They have been renegotiating the 2009 ASUU-FG Agreement since 2015. They have set up another committee to renegotiate the renegotiated 2009 agreement. When the government is not ready to implement an agreement, they keep dragging it and be setting up different committees on the same issue. And ASUU will be blamed.

And guess what? We are very patient people that MILT on anything. Noting from now, the public will start crying: ASUU, please call off the strike, we'll MILT. Baba, please increase the fuel pump price, we'll MILT. The ruling class understands that and that is why Femi Adesina, the spokesperson of the president dared to say that heavens would not fall over the current fuel scarcity and Nigerians will survive it like always. A president spokesperson won't dare this in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s when we had student unionism. Oh! Who will revive the student unionism that was killed in the 90s?

While ASUU is on strike, SSANU/NASU is to start strike next week, Petrol, diesel, aviation fuel are scarce, no electricity, the banditry challenge is kept in a cooler, purchasing power still declining, all they are bothered about now is their convention and 2023 election. And unfortunately, we tag along and queue behind them discussing their political ambitions.

I just wish they care about education, healthcare, and pay attention to the General Well Being (GWB) of the people the way they care and pay attention to their elections.

  2. Well analysed, but can go forward? From military to civil and from civil to what? Hypocrisy resulting from godlessness has given birth to greed, wickedness, corruption, unconcerned and unfeeling tendency towards humanity. Corruption is now our own natural disaster. Politicians believe in CAPITALISM and not DEMOCRACY in Nigeria. We are all culpable for our present socio-political cum economic woes in Nigeria. We love deceit and our politicians know this and we have been romancing deception from them all these years.

  3. Very sad. This Government is not of APC but of Buhari, this was not how founding members of the party intended it. May God help us to come out of it. Amen.
